The Forge in Chester is renowned as the home of sustainable eating in the city. With a passion for fresh and foraged ingredients sourced from Britain, its passion has earned the respect of diners and critics alike. Now the celebrated venue has announced it is adding two staff members who will shape its future – a new Restaurant Manager and Head Chef.
Callum Walsh is now Restaurant Manager for The Forge. With six years of in restaurant management, Walsh has a passion for hospitality, and says he can’t wait to advance his career at the Chester eatery. He said:
“The Forge’s reputation for excellence and creating unforgettable guest experiences aligns perfectly with mine and I can’t wait to continue to exceed our diners’ expectations.”
With an esteemed background which includes Buckingham Palace, Michelin restaurants and luxury cruise liners, David Skerry has all the experience necessary to take the reigns as Head Chef.
Skerry saw his passion for the culinary arts start in 2006, when he worked as kitchen porter to support his studies in law. Favouring the kitchen over the courtroom, he pursued a full-time career and was a Head Chef by age 26. Commenting on his new post, Skerry said:
“The Forge Restaurant seemed like the perfect fit for my next chapter. With a fantastic kitchen and team, I’m excited about the limitless possibilities ahead.”
May will see the Head Chef roll out The Forge’s brand-new seasonal menu.
